Christopher Eichler completed a PhD thesis in the Quantum device lab in 2013 for which he was awarded an ETH Medal. In 2014 he moved on to Princeton University where he was a Dicke postdoctoral fellow until rejoining the Quantum device lab in summer 2016 as a Senior Scientist. After leaving our group in 2022 he started as a Professor for Experimental Physics at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU).

In 2018, he won the prestigious Lopez-Loreta Prize, and with it a five-year research grant worth 1 million Euros. Farruh worked with us as a PostDoc from October 2010 to August 2015. Previously he carried out a PhD thesis in the group of Prof. Alexey Ustinov at the University of Erlangen, Germany, that he completed in 2004. He continued there as a postdoctoral researcher until 2006, then he moved to Prof. Tsai's group at RIKEN, Japan.

Johannes Herrmann joined our group in May 2018 to conduct a PhD thesis in collaboration with Zurich Instruments AG, where he was employed as an RF hardware design engineer. After successfully defending his thesis about quantum machine learning in October 2022, he remained with the Lab as a Postdoc. Prior to joining our group, he obtained a Masters degree in electrical engineering from RWTH Aachen and a degree in applied physics from Keio University in Japan. He left our group in September 2023.
